Johanna Acts Like Julie and Cooks Like Julia

"Mama, what day is it?"

"Saturday."

"Is today the day I cook like Julia for my friends?"

"If you want to."

"Can I use the spices we got in Antibes? What's Antibes again?"

“Mama, what are we going to make?”

“How does Chicken Meunière and spinach packets with cherry tomatoes sound?”

“Is any of that green?”

“Let’s go to the market.”

“Can we get peaches?”

“Yes.”

“What else are we making?”

“Salad.”

“Mama, are we going to cut onions?”

“Yes.”

“Mama, do other people wear goggles when they cut onions?”

“I don’t know.”

"Now what do we do?"

“Season. Pack. Dredge."

“Oh, I heard the doorbell.”

“Come in. The food is almost ready.”

“Bon appétit.”

  2. Lovely post. My 8-year-old is my constant kitchen help mate, too. The food looks luscious and the goggles are inspired. Love finding sweet new blogs on the Knopf site!

  3. What a great Mom! And I'm guessing Dad was the photog? Great job, both of you! And biggest kudos to J.
